Reduced Quantum Costs [Shaft Engineering]: The bars in this graph are the quantum monthly cost. This shows the effects of the same basic cost control approach on the monthly production engineering cost of a large deep-level shaft in SA. Production was not affected by the drop in cost. The nature of maintenance expenditure means that these costs are more variable from month to month, but the change was clearly sustainable long after Metworx left site.
